Downtown Sanitary and Stormwater Improvements Project

The project will be performed to increase the capacity of both the sanitary and storm sewer systems in the downtown area. A 24-inch sanitary and 24-inch storm sewer line will be installed in Chestnut Street and Willey Street from Fayette Street to North High Street. The storm line will end at the intersection of North High and Willey Street, and the sanitary line will continue up North High Street to Prospect Street.

In addition, a 24-inch storm line will be installed along Fayette Street from Chestnut Street to High Street. New stormwater collection facilities will be installed at the intersection of North High Street and Willey Street and along High Street near Fayette Street.  The work will be conducted in seven phases with a corresponding traffic control plan for each phase.

The above project has been successfully completed as of Friday August 8.
All related traffic routes have been restored to their normal pattern.
